As we reflect upon our current world circumstances, we realize so many uncertainties all around God’s earth (Ex. 19:5). For the believer, we must remember that our God is still the One in control despite everything going on in our world. “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (I Co. 2:5). We can rest assured that our God reigns and that He wants us to continue being faithful to Him!
We are grateful to the Lord for the quality time He gave us with our daughter, Elizabeth, during her visit with us. Naturally, we put her to work every chance the Lord gave us; teaching, visiting, specials; it had been a long time since she played the flute for us! But our “leisure time” with her was memorable also. A “time away” from the “usual routine” (Ec. 3:1). We took her out to eat a few times too. Once you’ve experienced authentic Brazilian food, it is the highlight of your visit back “home!”
Elizabeth is now back at her “usual routine” at West Coast Baptist College. Working hard at completing her last semester and preparing to graduate this coming May. She greatly appreciates everyone’s prayers for her during this somewhat stressful time.
The Lord willing, we plan to attend Elizabeth’s graduation ceremony during our upcoming furlough. Please join us in praying that our flights stop changing on us (they’ve changed twice already-one canceled on us, forcing us to search and purchase another). We’re also trusting the Lord will grant us quality time with our ailing parents. My dad in Georgia, and Donna’s parents in Pennsylvania.
Please pray with us for Gicele do Santos. The Lord allowed us an opportunity to witness to her about His saving grace, and she trusted in Jesus as her personal Savior. Gicele is a single mother of four children. All of her life, she had thought that she would go to heaven by being good. It was necessary to repeat God’s Word multiple times with her. Praise the Lord for the working of the Holy Spirit, enlightening her with the Truth of God’s Word, amen!
As always, we can’t help but close each of our updates with gratitude. Thank you all for your faithful giving on our behalf. Especially for your prayers! To God be all glory!
Scott, Donna, and Elizabeth Allen
