"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name" (Ps. 100:4).
Our hearts are filled with gratitude for which we praise the Lord and bless his name as we share God's marvelous goodness to-us-ward. As the end of 2021 approached us, our vehicle's engine began showing initial signs of a problem, thus requiring a mechanic's inspection. We dropped our truck off at a shop and commenced the New Year in a rental car, praying and hoping for a "minor" engine problem! However! It wouldn't be so. Following the holidays, the shop called to give us the bad news. We were discouraged to hear that it was a "major" problem; the engine needed to be replaced!
This wasn't the first time; we had to replace an engine in a borrowed vehicle during our deputation years. We experienced God's faithfulness then, and we know He is "the same yesterday, and today, and forever!” Then we received the quote from the shop. "Whoa!" To say my heart sank and I had to pick myself up from the floor would be an understatement! But! With "thanksgiving and praise,” we have "whatsoever things are of good report." We are back on the road, and our tires are barely cooled off before they're rolling again. Praise the Lord!
Thank you to some churches and several individuals (who were aware of our situation) for allowing God to use you to be a blessing to us, praying and giving extra offerings towards this heavy burden. Thank you for the "missionaries of the month" gift given to us during this dire circumstance. God knew our need beforehand! He is always ahead of our “circumstances!” Amen! Meanwhile. Thank you all also who gave towards a generator and washing machine. God has met these needs as well. Hallelujah! Donna and I THANK YOU for your generosity.
Please be praying for Donna's recovery. Back in February, her left leg gave out on her causing her to fall a couple of times. X-rays showed no broken bones or knee, but an MRI revealed two tears on her meniscus, one on each side of her knee. With God's help, we've been able to continue our travels, though with incredible difficulty. Donna used a borrowed walker at first and was later given one at a missions conference; Thank you to the donor, amen. The doctor encouraged us, saying that it should heal in time with walking and maybe some physical therapy. We've seen much improvement lately, and she's walking more and farther now before needing to rest again. Please join us in praying for a full recovery, the Lord willing.
We're rejoicing and praising the Lord for a young lady who believed and received Jesus as her Savior during one of our witnessing efforts recently. And we're grateful to Him for several new supporters. God continues faithful. Amen!
